Purchasing
How old do I have to be? Do I need to show id?
You must be 19 years old or older to purchase cannabis. Yes, we require photo identification for the sake of age validation.
Do you accept debit, credit, or e-transfers as methods of payment?
Not at this time. We are old-fashioned cash only.
Does Higher Standards accept charge accounts or extend credit?
No, we are cash only.
Is there a limit per purchase?
Sky’s the limit within reason. We recommended 1oz as a safety precaution.
Will I have my ‘favourites’ saved for future ease with ordering?
Yes, our system saves all your orders so of course this includes your favourites for your convenience when you reorder.
Do I have to submit a contact email?
No, email is not necessary, but it is recommended.
Do you accept and offer exchanges?
Yes, we stand by our satisfaction guaranteed promise. You can return any order as long as the seal isn’t broken.
Do you offer a price match guarantee?
Absolutely not. Our motto always has been and always will be: We won’t compete on price because they (all competition) cannot compete on quality.
Are there ever any specials on products?
Yes, absolutely. Keep an eye on our website and emails because flash sales happen all the time. It’s one of the benefits of membership.
Can I purchase a gift card?
Not at this time but simply talk to us and arrangements can be made.
Can I cancel an order?
Yes, but why would you?
Delivery
How long does it take to receive an order?
We do our best to deliver on the same day for all orders placed by 5pm. When we can’t, next day delivery is guaranteed. The more notice you give us, the better your odds you give yourself for same day delivery.
Do I have to be home to accept delivery?
No. But buyer beware, porch pirates do exist.
What are the delivery specifications?
That is up to you. Outline any special instructions when you place your order online, or tell us if you phone in your order. (Ex: mailbox, back door only, right side door of duplex, baby sleeping – Do not knock) whatever the case may be.
What if there is a weight discrepancy?
We have built a solid two decades-plus reputation for reliability. It is who we are. This includes our service. We will never, ever risk that. Ever. If you feel you have an issue on weight, talk to us. But in all our years, no customer has ever had a complaint.
Will my nosy neighbours know that I have received an order?
We are as discrete as we can be. We are quiet when we deliver, and our products come in a nondescript bag. But at the same time, we can’t guarantee a nosy neighbour isn’t going to put two and two together.
Do you have a brick and mortar storefront if I don’t want delivery?
No, but talk to us and no doubt a satisfactory arrangement can be made.
Does Higher Standards ship beyond the greater Fredericton Area?
Yes.
Club Membership
How do I become a member of the Higher Standards club?
We operate on a referral system so all members have all been vouched for.
Do I have to be 19+ to be a club member?
Yes, no one under the age of 19 will be served. If we sense a customer is under age, we will cancel the order and refuse the patron any service. And we will be having a chat with whoever referred them.
Do I require a medical licence to be a club member?
No.
Can we bypass the referral process for club access?
We are a tight knit club and only accept new members referred by existing ones. It is why we are not open to the public. If you are reading this, that means you must know a member.
How does the whole process work? Start to finish.
We work on referrals only. You must know a club member to become a club member. You’ll use their membership PIN to gain access to our website. This lets us know you’re a safe client. Once you’re in, you have access to our full menu and pricing. You can place an order online. You’ll receive a reply saying “order received” and a follow up message with specifics. Cash upon delivery. That’s about it. Only Higher Standards will know your name as identification is through a membership PIN. If you’re not comfortable with online ordering, treat it as a browsing menu and simply text us your order at 506-292-3590.
Health & Safety
Is cannabis safe to consume?
Higher Standards sources cannabis comes from trustworthy, professional growers that are Health Canada certified. We guarantee product integrity. Enjoy responsibly.
Who should NOT consume cannabis?
Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not consume cannabis, as it could harm their fetus or baby. Cannabis use during pregnancy has been linked to low birth weight, and can harm a child’s brain development.
Seniors using cannabis must be aware of the increased risk of falling due to impairment, drowsiness and dizziness – side effects with heightened consequences due to their age.
Anyone with a personal history of serious mental health disorders should always discuss cannabis with their healthcare professional before consumption. This includes people with a history of schizophrenia, depression or bipolar disorder. No matter your mental health history, stay in tune and keep track of how cannabis use affects your overall wellness.
Anyone with a serious liver, kidney, heart or lung disease should consult their doctor before consuming cannabis.
Should I mix cannabis with alcohol and tobacco?
Alcohol combined with cannabis can elevate the felt effects and lead to extreme intoxication, dizziness and nausea. Combining cannabis with alcohol can also increase the risk of vulnerable people experiencing psychotic symptoms. Combining the two further lowers concentration and reaction times.
Tobacco is harmful on its own, and the co-use of tobacco and cannabis has been associated with developing a dependence on either substance, negative mental health outcomes, engagement in other risk-taking behaviors, and increased difficulty stopping cannabis use. There is some evidence that suggests combining tobacco with cannabis can lead to taking up cigarette smoking. In addition, using both substances may also lead to increased health risks compared to using just one or the other, such as the impact on the respiratory system.
Storage
How should I store my cannabis?
The best way to keep your flower fresh is to keep it in a cool, dark, dry place. Light, heat, and moisture will all contribute to a change in the cannabinoids of your cannabis. Dark glass containers protect from harmful UV rays.
